David is a co-founder of Nelio Software, a Barcelona-based startup focused on developing WordPress plugins. He leads the analysis and design of their services and takes care of customer support. He loves DIY projects, 3D digital printing, and strong coffee. David has been a speaker at WordCamp Europe and multiple WordCamps in Spain. He contributes to WordPress core and Gutenberg, and is part of the Spanish and Catalan translation teams.

Gutenberg is finally part of WordPress core and it’s here to stay. The new editor is evolving at a great pace and it won’t be long before we see tons of websites built with Gutenberg. Actually, there already are some… like ours. In this presentation I’ll describe the process of migrating our website to Gutenberg, sharing all the problems we encountered and the solutions we applied. Galleries, testimonials, pricing tables, team members… how can one implement all this stuff in Gutenberg? Well, this talk will show you what vanilla Gutenberg is capable of and the different mechanisms (some as simple as adding a CSS class, others as complex as creating a custom block from scratch) you have to create a block-based website.
